So I love bishop. Now I understand why it’s a destination, it’s sooo goooooood! We arrived late at the pit late on the night of the 21st. Went straight to bed. Woke up to beautiful snow-capped peaks right outside my tent. After breakfast we headed out to Owens River Gorge and ended up climbing in lower gorge which has an awesome approach of a gentle grade on a closed road for about a mile+. The gorge is super sick. Kind of out of this world, really barren. The shade was absolutely freezing and the one route I did with partial shade had my hands completely numb by the top. I took two pretty big whippers, which were pretty fun. Glad to have taken some falls, but really wish I had sent the route. While I definitely enjoyed climbing there, it wasn’t my fav sport crag ever. It’s fricken huge though and am definitely looking forward to exploring it more sometime in the future. We spent the next day at the buttermilks. Oh my. That place is so incredibly sick. Definitely want to climb their again. The weather was perfect, shirts off at some points. Was really sick seeing some of the hardest problems in the world and climbing with über strong people. Left at 6am the next morning…Or at least tried to, ha. We were parked on a SLIGHT incline which was just enough to make the miniscule amount of gas in the car not enter the engine. After about 15 min of freezing frustration we got it started and began our 6 hour drive home.
Awesome trip. Go to Bishop. I know I will. Videos and pictures soon.
tl;dr: Went to bishop and loved it
